Success' Energy Expense

Oct 15, 2025

For any new project, any time you’re building

Sustaining success is energy intensive until it becomes a part of who you are. At the beginning of starting a new project or pursuit, it feels “expensive.”

As a reminder, I don’t think in terms of expensive or cheap. I think in terms of value. So when I put a ton of energy into something, I might end up exhausted.

Was that “expensive?”
Is the definition of expensive based on the outcome?

No. Just no.

What you pour energy into becomes an integral piece of who you become.

Some people pour energy into chaos.
Others pour themselves into complaining.
You know them. My hope is that you are distancing yourself from them.

Those who succeed pour themselves into their purpose. They understand clearly who they are and they understand what they’re here to do. They have clarity. They have purpose. And they have a vision so bright that others can see it.

And those others are either the supporters or the detractors. Pay attention to where people focus. Some people get personal validation by claiming judgment over others.

Successful people, those who create significance, engaging in lifting others, in giving, and in living in gratitude.

Now, each of those can be energy “expensive” if you’re not used to them. As always, become just a few percentage points more intentional here. And then a few more. And before you know it, you’ve practiced your intentionality into identity.

Be deliberate. Success takes your focused energy. It takes you choosing to live into your purpose and eliminating distractions along the way. Oh, and there are so many distractions. Focus, even in spurts, focus. Stay in purpose. Stay on purpose. You’re in the process of becoming anew.

Cool, right?

Keep making your magic. Level it up and keep making your magic!
