Leveraging Agility

wednesdays with wayne May 15, 2024

A whirlwind swept through my world. As I continue to say yes to opportunities placed in front of me, the direction shifts just a bit. The North Star – the guiding light for leaning into or letting go of the opportunities is my vivid vision. Does this get me closer to or further from my big goals and dreams?

As it turns out, one of the opportunities has forced me to live big time into the lessons I teach. This is big:

YOU MUST GIVE UP WHO YOU ARE AND HOW YOU DO THE THINGS YOU DO

IN ORDER TO BECOME WHO YOU NEED TO BE TO DO AND HAVE THE THINGS YOU SAID YOU WANTED

But… but… I like who I am!

That’s cool, I’m using who I have become as a lever to my next iteration. As my friends have begun to look toward retirement, I’ve revamped my business to have an even greater impact in the world. It’s all go. And it’s all NOW.

I was debating giving up the Wednesdays With Wayne blog for a while. Did you know that THIS IS BLOG #400!!! That’s 400 weeks of Wednesdays With Wayne. It might make some business sense to stop this blog in this iteration. For now, writing is for me. It’s a way of sharing me with you. And, my hope is that you get a nugget here and there. My hope is that some inspirational message will open you to new opportunities to lean into for the sake of living into your goals and dreams.

And so, what does that mean? How does leveraging agility fit into all of this. If you had plugged an address into a GPS and you began to travel toward your destination, and then you found that the road was closed at a certain point, but your GPS didn’t know that, you’d have to pivot. You’d have to do your best to go around the obstacle until an outside observer could guide you to the next step and the next.

I wasn’t moving toward my goal the way I wanted.

I got very, very clear about my goal and reaffirmed what I wanted to do, have, and become.

And then, I stayed open for opportunities. I didn’t try to do it harder. Working harder at the same thing only makes you tired. Staying open for opportunities and holding them up to the light of the vision allows you to confirm that you ARE on the path.

The path changes. It always changes. Your ability to pivot, turn, and let go of some things allows you to face the direction you need to go and take on some other things. And when those new things are different from anything you’ve experienced before, you grow.

I’m growing. It’s tiring and it’s invigorating. It’s scary and it’s exciting.

Reflect on your own path. What is it you want for yourself, really, truly. What do you desire? What would you treasure?

Those thoughts that popped to mind before the censors came in to squash them – those. Go after them!

Keep making your magic and I’ll see you here next week.
